Chrome Cobalt Denture - iCare Lab London

Chrome Cobalt Lasts Longer and Fits Better Than Any Acrylic Alternative

At iCare Lab, every chrome framework begins with a proper survey of the patient's model. We identify the most appropriate path of insertion, design the rests, clasps, and connectors to your prescription, and produce a wax pattern before investing and casting.

Precision Chrome Frameworks for Every Partial Denture Prescription

From simple single-saddle chrome partials to complex multi-saddle frameworks with precision attachments, every chrome cobalt case is crafted with exceptional accuracy and clinical precision.

Chrome Cobalt Upper Partial Denture

Upper chrome partial denture with a palatal plate connector. The most commonly prescribed chrome framework for upper arch partial cases. The cobalt chrome palatal plate can be designed to cover minimal palatal tissue while providing the structural rigidity needed to prevent flexure under occlusal load.

Chrome Cobalt Lower Partial

Lower chrome partial denture with lingual bar major connector. The lingual bar sits between the gingival margins and the floor of the mouth — a narrow, rigid, and well-tolerated connector that most patients adapt to quickly.

Hybrid Chrome

Hybrid chrome partial dentures combine the rigidity and strength of a cobalt chrome framework with the aesthetics of Valplast flexible nylon clasps. Where conventional metal clasps would be visible in the smile zone, we replace them with gum-coloured flexible clasps that blend naturally with the gingiva.

Chrome Framework with Precision Attachment

For partial denture cases requiring maximum aesthetics and superior retention, precision attachments can be incorporated into the chrome framework design. The attachment fits into a corresponding housing in a crown or bridge on the abutment tooth, providing strong retention without any visible clasp.

FAQ

Chrome Cobalt Frameworks - Common Questions

Everything dentists ask before sending us their first chrome cobalt partial denture case.

Chrome cobalt frameworks are stronger, thinner, and more comfortable than acrylic partial dentures. The cobalt chrome alloy can be cast at 1.8mm maximum thickness — compared to 3–4mm for acrylic in the same area. The thinner profile means less interference with tongue function, improved taste perception (particularly for palatal coverage), and better patient acceptance. Chrome partials are also more durable long-term and require less frequent remake.
Chrome cobalt partial denture frameworks start from £175 on our Private tier. The full price list is at icarelab.co.uk/prices .
Yes. For complex multi-saddle cases or any case where the clinician wants to verify the framework fit before adding acrylic saddles and teeth, we offer a metal framework try-in. Please indicate this on your prescription and we will return the case at the framework stage. There is no additional charge for this stage.
Please include: arch (upper or lower), saddle locations, connector type preference (palatal plate, lingual bar, lingual plate, etc.), clasp positions and design, rest positions, any precision attachment requirements, and the shade and mould for the prosthetic teeth. If any of this information is missing, your named technician will contact you before work begins.
5-7 working days for a standard chrome partial denture, including saddles and teeth. If a metal framework try-in stage is included, turnaround extends by the time taken for the clinical try-in appointment to be attended. We will confirm the adjusted timeline when you submit.
Yes. Chrome partial dentures can be designed to incorporate implant attachments — for example, ball attachment clips or Locator-style attachments — that allow the patient’s existing partial to be retained by one or two implants. These cases require detailed discussion with your named technician before impression-taking.
